V is for Vinegar
This weeks favorite is probably sitting in your cabinet forgotten and only used every once in a while in your baking. I am talking about vinegar! I use both apple cider vinegar and white distilled vinegar equally as much. I started using vinegar because it is an environmentally friendly option as opposed to cleaners. I utilize both for an economical way to have a safe and chemical free home. There are over 100 uses for vinegar but here are ways I use it in my daily life.
I take apple cider vinegar orally as long as it’s organic with the mother. ACV contains enzymes that can aid in digestion. It has an alkalizing quality so you can use it on your skin to normalize pH levels, as well as before heavily acidic meals. It can also be used as a natural heartburn remedy.
We use distilled white vinegar all around our place. I use it to clean counter tops, deodorize laundry, and clean metals. Adding 1/4 cup to the rinse cycle in your washing machine brightens whites and colors. Additionally, it removes yellow stains that can occur from using conventional deodorants. I also use vinegar to remove smells from wet towels and gym clothes.
Vinegar kills mold, bacteria, and germs. You can use vinegar in your gardening, on your car, baking, and on your pets! Try and replace vinegar with your standard cleaners and see how you go. With something so inexpensive, why not give it a shot?
